Rebuilding Together Orlando partners with Orange County to rehab 5 homes in Eatonville
In Greater Orlando, many low income homeowners are forced to live in unsafe, unhealthy homes because they can no longer afford to maintain them, which, in turn, has chipped away at the value and vitality of some of our communities. Rebuilding Together Orlando’s (RTO’s) services address the root of housing deterioration by rebuilding a home’s failing systems. RTO also responds to the national movement of helping individuals “age in place”, by restoring their homes, as Baby Boomers become seniors. Rebuilding Together Orlando collaborates with other social service providers to address a variety of other issues faced by low income individuals and families.
Sponsorship from Orange County and volunteers from the Adventist University of Health Sciences (ADU) and Timber Creek High School made it possible for RTO continue to achieve their mission in the Historic Town of Eatonville. RTO was able to serve 5 low-income families by completing several projects on each home including exterior painting and siding repairs, landscaping, roof repairs, and installing RTO’s S.A.F.E. at Home Kits.
