On October 14, 2015, CBRE volunteers will partner with Rebuilding Together Orlando and The Mustard Seed to assist a local family of seven. The selected family has five children, two of which have development disorders. Most of the family’s income goes toward the payment of day-to-day living expenses such as medical bills, utility bills and simply putting food on the table. This has left little for emergency repairs and the general home maintenance they so desperately need on their home.
Thanks to the Solar and Energy Loan Fund (SELF), the family was able to secure a loan to replace their leaky roof. Rebuilding Together Orlando and The Mustard Seed will provide the remaining repairs and improvements at no cost to the homeowner.
The repairs to be provided by Rebuilding Together Orlando and CBRE include interior drywall and ceiling repair, mold remediation, interior and exterior painting along with light landscaping. The Mustard Seed of Central Florida, will provide home furnishings because most of their furniture was damaged due to water intrusion. With the roof replaced and interior damages fixed, the home painted inside and out, the donated furniture will be the finishing touch in creating their new residence. Thanks to the collaborative efforts of four Central Florida organizations, the family can put their concerns to rest and finally feel the warmth and security of a safe and healthy family home.
